Republika Srpska delegate accuses Christian Schmidt of attempting to seize entity property

Radovan Kovačević, the Serbian delegate to the House of Peoples of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina, has accused High Representative Christian Schmidt of attempting to seize the property of Republika Srpska. Kovačević stated that Schmidt imposed amendments to the Criminal Code with the specific intention of taking control of assets belonging to the entity.

Kovačević claimed that Milorad Dodik acted as a shield to protect these assets, sacrificing himself personally to divert political pressure and legal proceedings away from the entity's interests. According to Kovačević, Dodik's legal challenges forced opponents to focus on him rather than implementing laws that would have stripped Republika Srpska of its decision-making power and property. The delegate noted that the entity is currently undergoing an investment cycle of 7.5 billion KM, which he argued would have been compromised if Sarajevo had gained control over its assets.
