Republika Srpska announces road safety plan and fuel subsidies
Republika Srpska is developing a new five-year road safety program for 2026–2030, budgeted at nearly 100 million KM. The initiative follows a period of high traffic fatalities, including 129 deaths last year. The plan aims to implement stricter speed controls, digital institutional integration, and a zero-tolerance policy regarding child fatalities. Key investments will focus on road repairs, safer crossings, and technical upgrades for traffic police.
In Montenegro, the Ministry of Finance reported that the Centralized Salary Calculation (COZ) system has expanded to include approximately 37,000 employees across 413 entities, following the successful integration of the Ministry of Defence and the Armed Forces of Montenegro. Preparations are underway to include approximately 30 healthcare institutions and 10,000 additional employees by the end of 2026.
Additionally, the Government of Republika Srpska has extended direct support for the petroleum derivatives market until November 15, 2026. This measure provides a discount of 0.10 KM per liter on unleaded gasoline and diesel at 281 locations across the entity.
