Republika Srpska Health Insurance Fund to add 75 new services
The Health Insurance Fund of Republika Srpska has announced plans to introduce 75 new medical services starting next year. This initiative aims to improve the accessibility and quality of healthcare for policyholders and reduce the necessity for patients to seek treatment outside of Republika Srpska.
The new services cover various medical fields, including laboratory diagnostics, molecular pathology, interventional radiology, pain therapy, cardiology, and cardiac surgery. This expansion follows a trend where the Fund has financed over 200 new services in recent years.
To support these changes, the Fund intends to monitor waiting lists more closely and insist on quality standards through contracts with healthcare institutions. The goal is to ensure that services are provided efficiently and within optimal timeframes, while using control mechanisms to identify and address reasons for long wait times.
