Republika Srpska increases salaries for judicial police and correctional staff

Goran Selak, the Minister of Justice of Republika Srpska, and Siniša Petrović, president of the Judiciary Union, have signed amendments to the Special Collective Agreement. The agreement aims to equalize the rights of employees in correctional institutions and the judicial police with other judicial workers.

Specifically, the amendments address salary supplements. While employees in courts, prosecutor's offices, and the Attorney's Office receive a supplement of 11.9 percent of their base salary, those in correctional facilities and the judicial police currently receive 7.9 percent. The new measures will provide a salary increase of between four and five percent for 1,164 employees, supported by over three million KM in additional funds.

The agreement also includes adjustments to annual leave rights, such as providing one additional day of leave per child for parents or guardians of children up to 14 years old. The Ministry noted that Republika Srpska allocates 190 million KM for salaries across its judicial institutions, which employ a total of 3,309 people.
