Republika Srpska officials sign electronic data exchange agreements

The Minister of Internal Affairs of Republika Srpska, Željko Budimir, has signed agreements with the mayors of Prijedor, Gradiška, and Laktaši to implement electronic data exchange. This initiative aims to modernize public administration and local self-government by allowing institutions to exchange necessary documentation electronically.

One primary benefit for citizens is the reduction of administrative burdens; for example, residents will no longer need to manually obtain and transport certificates of residence to resolve administrative matters. In Laktaši, the digitalization is expected to accelerate processes related to kindergarten enrollment, pronatalist measures, and social work services.

In Prijedor, Mayor Slobodan Javor noted that the city is also working on security through a separate agreement with the Ministry to revitalize public surveillance cameras, having allocated 590,000 KM for 115 new cameras. Additionally, residents of Omarska are set to receive a dedicated service desk for issuing personal identity documents.
