Republika Srpska police block football celebration in Zvornik

Following the Bosnia and Herzegovina national team's World Cup victory, fans attempted to celebrate on the streets of Zvornik. Police and the Republika Srpska gendarmerie stopped the gathering, blocking traffic, checking vehicles, and conducting alcohol and drug tests. Officers questioned whether drivers were supporters, declared the event unannounced, and forced the convoy to return.

Republika Srpska vice‑president Ćamil Duraković condemned the action as "systemic discrimination" and an intimidation of citizens wishing to celebrate their country's success. He demanded a public response from the RS Ministry of Interior and accountability for the officials involved, describing the police presence as a political message that flags, jerseys and joy are unwelcome in parts of the country.
