Republika Srpska politics: SDS decline and opposition disputes
Former leader of the Serbian Democratic Party (SDS), Dragan Kalinić, has stated that the party is in a state of irreversible shock and has no chance of returning to its former position as a leader of the opposition. Kalinić noted that the SDS of the 1990s was a unifying, state-building party, whereas the current iteration lacks that identity due to internal conflicts and previous interventions by the High Representative.
Simultaneously, political tensions in Republika Srpska have escalated through a verbal confrontation on social media between SNSD parliamentary club leader Srđan Mazalica and National Front president Jelena Trivić. The dispute involved mutual accusations regarding political allegiances and cooperation with SNSD leader Dragan Dodik, highlighting the ongoing friction between the ruling party and the opposition.
