Republika Srpska pushes Serbian victim narrative with New York exhibition and Dodik's criticism of Bosniak rhetoric

Republika Srpska leader Milorad Dodik accused Bosniaks of continuing war rhetoric, saying, “Svoju ratnu zastavu mogu čuvati u svom muzeju, ali u RS‑u nema mjesta za simbol pod kojim su, prema našem stavu, stradali Srbi.” He linked the dispute to debate over historical symbols such as the Bosnian lily flag.

At the same time, the Memorial Center of Republika Srpska organized a traveling multimedia exhibition in New York titled “Upoznaj srpsko stradanje.” Director Denis Bojić said the project’s message is “the history of the Balkans, Europe and the world cannot be complete without the suffering of the Serbian people.” The exhibition displays large figures of alleged Serbian victims from World War II and the 1990s, and is funded by RS institutions and the Serbian diaspora.

Both actions aim to promote a narrative of Serbian victimhood and shape collective memory both domestically and abroad.
