Rescaldina robbery suspect arrested in Ventimiglia

A 27-year-old man has been arrested in Ventimiglia for an aggravated robbery committed at the Rescaldina railway station in September 2025. The individual, a foreign national with a history of theft and robbery, was apprehended by the Border Police during the ‘Safe Border’ operation while attempting to re-enter Italy illegally.

The suspect was already subject to a five-year re-entry ban and an expulsion decree. Following a definitive incarceration order from the Busto Arsizio Court, he is sentenced to serve 2 years, 6 months, and 21 days in prison. The robbery involved an assault on a young victim to steal a mobile phone and cash. While an accomplice was arrested shortly after the incident, the primary suspect remained at large until his recent capture at the border.
