Rescue dog Lola alerts family to grandfather's kidney failure

A rescue dog named Lola, who spent eight years in a cramped commercial breeding facility, is credited with saving the life of her adoptive grandfather.

After being rescued by the National Mill Dog Rescue, Lola was adopted by the Mullane family. Despite her history of neglect, she integrated quickly into the household. The dog alerted the family to a medical emergency when she began acting unusually, repeatedly nudging the grandfather and lying across his body.

Prompted by Lola’s persistent behavior, the grandfather, who was already battling colon cancer, sought medical attention. Doctors subsequently diagnosed him with kidney failure, noting that immediate treatment was critical to preventing more severe consequences.
