Rescue teams respond to waterfall accidents in Wales and Cornwall

Emergency rescue teams in the United Kingdom have responded to multiple incidents involving injuries at popular waterfall locations.

In Bannau Brycheiniog National Park, a person was airlifted to a hospital after sustaining head, neck, and spinal injuries from a fall at Clun Gwyn Isaf waterfall. The Central Beacons Mountain Rescue Team, working with the Welsh Ambulance Service and the Coastguard, performed a complex extraction from the gorge. This incident follows another recent callout in the area where a walker suffered a dislocated shoulder.

In Cornwall, the East Cornwall Search and Rescue Team rescued a woman at Golitha Falls on Bodmin Moor after she slipped on rocks and suffered a significant ankle injury. Fourteen volunteers assisted in carrying the casualty from the difficult-to-access location to a car park, where she was handed over to ambulance crews for transport to Derriford Hospital.
