Research compares core stability and strength training for back pain
A research thesis examines the effectiveness of core stability exercises (CSE) versus progressive strength training (KT) for treating non-specific low back pain (NSLBP).
Based on a systematic literature review of randomized controlled trials from PubMed, the study found that CSE programs provide significantly stronger pain reduction during the acute and subacute phases compared to general strength training. However, long-term studies spanning 12 to 24 months indicate that heavy strength training, such as deadlifts, is equally effective as CSE approaches when performed with correct motor control.
