Research examines femininity in Marvel series Agatha All Along

A research paper by Tanja Kurz examines the construction of femininity and female representation in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) series ‘Agatha All Along’. The study utilizes qualitative film analysis, grounded in intersectionality, interactionist constructivism, and feminist film theory, to analyze sequences from eight of the series' nine episodes.

The research highlights that ‘Agatha All Along’ features a predominantly female cast and demonstrates diversity in ethnicity, age, and sexuality. Notably, the series includes a significant queer relationship between two women. The study aims to determine how femininity is constructed for central female characters through visual and linguistic cues, as well as their interpersonal relationships.
