Researcher links Quranic coordinates to Hadramaut geography in Aden lecture

Researcher Arif Saleh Al-Tuwai presented a research hypothesis in Aden linking the geographic dimensions of the story of Noah's Ark to southern Arabian Peninsula regions, specifically Hadramaut, Yemen.

Al-Tuwai utilized a methodology that projects Quranic verse and chapter numbers—such as verse 15 from Surah Al-Ankabut and Surah Al-Qamar—onto longitude and latitude coordinates. This approach suggests specific areas in southern Yemen as potential sites for the Great Flood. The researcher also drew connections between the traditional architecture of Shibam Hadramaut, noting the use of mud, wood, and bitumen, and ancient shipbuilding techniques.

The presentation included findings from field surveys focusing on seismic and tectonic indicators in the valleys of Shabwah and Hadramaut, including the Armaa region. These findings intersect geological formations and water spring traces with ancient Stone Age settlement evidence. Additionally, geophysical surveys led by Dr. Abdulmohsen Al-Amri used electrical measurements and 3D data analysis to verify field evidence. Organizers emphasized that the lecture was intended to stimulate scientific dialogue and critical thinking rather than to present definitive archaeological conclusions.
