Researcher Nucci calls for university-industry dialogue in orthodontics

Researcher Ludovica Nucci from the University of Campania Luigi Vanvitelli has emphasized the necessity of a bidirectional dialogue between academic institutions and corporations in the field of modern orthodontics.

Speaking at an event in Naples focused on technological applications in pediatric orthodontic treatment, Nucci highlighted that universities must provide students with scientific rigor and evidence-based training while simultaneously keeping pace with rapid technological innovation. She noted that direct engagement with technology developers, such as Align Technology, allows students to understand and critically analyze the tools they will use in clinical practice.

Nucci stressed that the integration of interdisciplinary expertise—including pediatricians, otorhinolaryngologists, and speech therapists—is essential.
