Researchers from Chulalongkorn University and Japanese institution rank in top 2% of global scientists

Chulalongkorn University has announced that 93 of its faculty members and researchers have been included in the Elsevier database of the world’s top 2% scientists. This recognition, updated in August 2026, covers two categories: career-long citation impact and citation impact during the single calendar year 2025. The number of recognized researchers at Chulalongkorn University represents a 150% increase from the previous year.

Separately, a Japanese institution reported that four of its researchers were ranked in the same Stanford University and Elsevier database. The recognized individuals include Toshikatsu Koga, Mianxiong Dong, Kazumi Shiroya, and Kaori Ota. The database utilizes a composite metric (c-score) based on Scopus data, including citation counts and h-index, to identify the top 100,000 scientists globally or those in the top 2% of their specific sub-fields.
