Researchers to study eclipse emotions via Iberia flight
Researchers are launching a scientific expedition to study the emotional impact of the upcoming solar eclipse on August 12. Led by Carlos Javier Rodríguez, a specialist in experiential learning, the project aims to analyze how such an exceptional astronomical phenomenon affects human perception and emotions.
The study will utilize an unconventional laboratory: an Iberia Airbus A321XLR aircraft. Flying at an altitude of approximately 11,000 meters, the flight will depart from Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas airport and follow a trajectory designed to pass through the Moon's shadow over the province of Palencia.
Through the ‘Corona’ project, scientists intend to convert the sensations of thousands of people into comparable data. The research seeks to determine if the eclipse alters the perception of time, which emotions intensify during the event, and how long the memory of the experience persists.
