Reserve Bank Governor Michele Bullock addresses UNE graduates

Reserve Bank of Australia Governor Michele Bullock delivered an occasional address to approximately 200 graduates at the University of New England (UNE). During the ceremony, where she was presented with an honorary doctorate by acting chancellor David van Aanholt, Ms. Bullock reflected on her own career and the transition into professional life.

Drawing inspiration from the Dr. Seuss book ‘Oh, the Places You’ll Go!’, Ms. Bullock noted that while graduates possess skills and qualifications, the path ahead is often unpredictable. She shared three key lessons from her 35-year career at the Reserve Bank: the importance of purpose, the value of perspective in navigating complexity, and the necessity of embracing change during periods of uncertainty.
