Reserve Bank of India injects ₹1.41 lakh crore into banking system to boost liquidity
The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has transferred ₹1.41 lakh crore (about $180 billion) into the country’s banking sector. The large‑scale liquidity infusion is intended to stabilize the financial system, ease short‑term funding pressures and support growing credit demand from businesses and consumers. RBI officials said the move complements ongoing monetary tools designed to keep market conditions orderly and to sustain economic activity. Analysts expect the added cash to improve banks’ ability to lend to key sectors, bolster confidence in the financial system and help maintain smooth functioning of credit markets.
The injection follows the central bank’s close monitoring of liquidity conditions and reflects its commitment to ensure sufficient resources are available for growth and investment throughout the economy.
