Resident Evil 2 Remake receives unofficial local co-op mod

A new unofficial mod titled ‘Local Couch Co-op’ has been released for the PC version of Resident Evil 2 Remake, introducing local two-player cooperative gameplay. Created by modder Shopcreeper01 and released on Nexus Mods, the mod allows players to experience the survival horror title together on a single PC.

Players can choose to play as Leon or Claire, with additional characters such as HUNK available. The mod supports various viewing modes, including shared-screen, split-screen with separate cameras, and classic fixed camera angles when used with specific additional mods. It also features an option to use a bot companion that can follow instructions and assist during encounters.

This is a fan-made project and not an official update from Capcom. To function, the mod requires the Steam version of the game and the REFramework tool. It is limited to local play and does not support online multiplayer.
