Capcom releases Resident Evil remakes for Nintendo Switch 2
Capcom is expanding its presence on the Nintendo Switch 2 by releasing several Resident Evil titles. Starting October 16, 2026, the remakes of Resident Evil 2, Resident Evil 3, and Resident Evil 4 will be available on the Nintendo eShop. A physical release for these titles is scheduled for January 27.
These releases follow the success of previous remakes built on the RE Engine. Resident Evil 2 Deluxe Edition features the interconnected stories of Leon S. Kennedy and Claire Redfield. Resident Evil 3 follows Jill Valentine’s escape from Raccoon City while being pursued by the creature Nemesis. Resident Evil 4 follows Leon Kennedy on a mission to rescue the US President's daughter in a remote Spanish village.
In addition to these remakes, Resident Evil 7 and Village were released earlier in the year, and a remake of Code Veronica is expected in early 2027. The Switch 2 versions leverage the console's hybrid nature, offering high-quality portable horror experiences.
