Resident Evil Requiem surpasses $500 million in revenue

Capcom’s Resident Evil Requiem has surpassed $500 million in revenue, making it the fastest-selling title in the franchise's history. According to estimates from Alinea Analytics, the game has reached 8.5 million players and is on track to potentially exceed the $600 million earned by the Resident Evil 4 Remake.

Platform distribution shows a strong preference for PlayStation 5, which accounts for 48.1% of sales, followed closely by Steam at 43.4%. The Xbox Series X|S holds a significantly smaller market share at 8.6%. Notably, physical media remains relevant, with approximately 30.8% of PS5 sales being physical copies.

The commercial success of the game has been bolstered by the release of the new Resident Evil film directed by Zach Cregger. While the film’s direct impact on Requiem’s daily revenue was mixed—with PS5 daily earnings seeing a slight dip during the film's opening weekend—it has significantly increased engagement with older titles in the series. Following the film's release, daily active users for Resident Evil 2 Remake rose by 48%, Resident Evil 3 Remake by 25%, and Resident Evil 4 Remake by 24%.
