German and Swiss towns confront traffic project criticism

The city rejected the barriers, later adjusting traffic rules and introducing temporary bans to keep the narrow curve clear for heavy vehicles.

In Löhningen, Switzerland, the municipality's plan to improve the local thoroughfare and expand a bus stop faced formal objections. On 27 July, the Swiss traffic club VCS and the cycling advocacy group Pro Velo Schaffhausen submitted appeals against the project, arguing that the proposed changes do not meet accessibility standards and could negatively affect local traffic flow.
