Residential fires in Joyas del Pedregal and Cancún destroy homes

Two separate residential fires in Mexico have resulted in significant property loss.

In the Joyas del Pedregal neighborhood of El Pitillal, a house constructed of wood and sheets was completely destroyed by fire on Friday afternoon. The blaze, which occurred near the intersection of Obsidiana and La Habana streets, also ignited a Telmex utility pole. A family of five lost nearly all their belongings, including furniture, clothing, and toys. Local residents reported that a lack of water supply in the area hindered initial attempts to control the flames before firefighters arrived.

In Cancún, a fire in Supermanzana 95 destroyed a home, causing severe structural damage to the roof and making the residence uninhabitable. Firefighters believe the blaze was caused by a short circuit in one of the rooms. The incident resulted in the loss of personal documents, clothing, and school supplies. Tragically, the family's pet also died in the fire after a child was unable to rescue it from the rapidly spreading flames.
