Residential fires reported in Ballina and Marulan

Two separate residential fires have been reported in Australia. In Ballina, an intense fire broke out at a residential complex on Tamar Street around 9:00 am. The blaze produced thick smoke that spread across the eastern part of the town due to strong southerly winds. Firefighting crews from Ballina, Alstonville, and Lismore responded to the scene, which required more than an hour to manage. Tamar Street was blocked between Martin and Norton streets during the operation.

In Marulan, a fire destroyed a newly built brick house on Corriedale Drive. The blaze began in an adjoining garage and spread rapidly to the main structure. Crews from Goulburn, Marulan, Tallong, Wingello, Yass East, and Bundanoon worked to extinguish the flames. While no injuries were reported, the house sustained extensive fire, heat, and water damage. Investigators suspect the cause may have been electrical. The local community has initiated a GoFundMe campaign to assist the affected Foster family.
