Residential fires reported in Brazil

Two separate residential fires have been reported in Brazil. In Santa Maria, Distrito Federal, a fire destroyed the home of a family of seven. The blaze reportedly began when a four-year-old child used a stove lighter in the kitchen. While the mother and five children escaped without physical injury, the family lost all their belongings and two pets, a dog and a cat.

In the Mandaqui neighborhood of São Paulo, military police rescued an elderly woman and two other individuals, along with a small dog, from a burning residence. The fire is believed to have started in a vehicle parked in the garage before spreading to the house. The rescued woman was taken to a local emergency room in good condition. Firefighters contained the blaze, and forensic experts have been called to investigate the cause.
