Residential fires reported in Brazil and the United States

In Barra de São Francisco, Brazil, a house in Vila Gonçalves was completely destroyed by a fire on Tuesday morning. No injuries were reported as the residence was unoccupied at the time. The owner, Rosimeire Pereira Martins, and her two young daughters lost all their belongings. A social media campaign has been launched to collect donations of food, clothing, furniture, and hygiene products to assist the family in rebuilding.

In Tigard, Oregon, a large fire destroyed a home and several vehicles during the early hours of Wednesday. A dog reportedly alerted the occupants, allowing most to escape, though the animal is suspected to have died in the blaze. Two residents were injured during the escape—one with burns and another from jumping from a balcony—but both are expected to recover. The cause of the Oregon fire remains under investigation.
