Residential fires reported in Villa Gobernador Gálvez and La Plata
Two separate residential fires were reported in different regions of Argentina.
In the Pueblo Nuevo neighborhood of Villa Gobernador Gálvez, a fire broke out in a home on Polonia Street around 2:30 AM on a Saturday. Two teams of volunteer firefighters responded to the scene and successfully extinguished the flames. No injuries were reported, and the owner was notified by a neighbor. The Police Investigations Department and Civil Defense were notified to investigate the cause.
In the Barrio Norte neighborhood of La Plata, a fire affected a garage area of a residence located near the Second Police Station. Witnesses reported a strong smell of burning before flames consumed a wooden access gate. The incident caused significant smoke and required traffic closures in the area. No injuries were reported, and authorities have not yet determined the origin of the fire, though the property had previously experienced a fire in May 2024.
