Residents in Iași and Petrila report water leaks during building renovations

Residents in several Romanian apartment blocks are reporting significant water infiltration following renovation and energy efficiency works. In Iași, occupants of the DF8 building in the Dacia neighborhood reported water entering apartments, including leaks near electrical wiring, following the application of a second insulation layer on the roof. Residents claim they paid an additional 42,000 lei for these works, which were contracted to Nicu Sebastian Construct SRL in September 2026.

Similarly, in Petrila, residents of buildings 9 and 22 on 8 Martie Street are experiencing water ingress during ongoing energy rehabilitation projects funded by European and public resources. In building 9, which is under contract with A. F. Consulting SRL, some residents report that leaks have persisted since July. Occupants in both locations have expressed concerns regarding damage to furniture, walls, and the potential for mold, while attempting to protect their belongings from the rain.
