Residents in Italy report parking issues and theft
In Maddaloni, residents of via Guglielmo Marconi are calling for increased police patrols and municipal intervention following a series of disturbances. Between October 18 and 19, five planters containing ornamental plants were stolen. These planters had been purchased by local citizens to both beautify the historic district and serve as physical barriers to prevent illegal parking.
Citizens report that unauthorized parking frequently obstructs driveways and access points, raising significant safety concerns. Residents noted a previous incident where a woman experiencing a medical emergency nearly failed to reach the hospital in time due to vehicles blocking the passage for emergency services.
In a separate matter in Reggio Calabria, local councilor Pasquale Alfano has urged authorities to lift a long-standing absolute no-parking ban on the stretch of Via Nazionale between Gallico and Archi. The restriction was originally implemented due to traffic diversions caused by A2 motorway construction. Alfano argues that since the construction is complete, the continued ban is causing unnecessary economic hardship for local businesses and financial strain on families through constant fines.
