Residents in Sant Cugat denounce waste management issues
Residents and neighborhood associations in Sant Cugat are raising concerns regarding waste management and urban hygiene. In one area, recurring accumulations of trash at the intersection of Avinguda de l’Enllaç and Passeig del Carme have been reported, with locals citing both lack of civic responsibility and municipal inaction.
In the Ciutat Jardí neighborhood, the local residents' association reports that neighbors are forced to dispose of organic waste in other districts, such as La Mariola or Pardinyes. This occurs because residents fear that leaving door-to-door collection bins on the street for extended periods makes their homes targets for theft. The association is requesting universal access to chip-enabled organic waste containers to ensure all residents can participate in the system effectively and receive appropriate tax bonuses.
