Residents in Santo Domingo Este face power outages while La Cruz secures school supplies

In Santo Domingo Este, Dominican Republic, more than 50 families in the Nuevo Amanecer sector report being without electricity for over three weeks. The outage began after an electrical cable detached in a public road. Although a crew from the Eastern Electricity Distribution Company (Edeeste) removed the damaged network, residents claim work was abandoned without restoring service. Community members report receiving high electricity bills despite the lack of supply and state that the outage is causing difficulties with food preservation and daily activities.

In La Cruz, Mexico, Mayor Sergio Olvera has secured school equipment and supplies through the Chihuahuan Institute of Physical Educational Infrastructure (ICHIFE). The support includes furniture such as chairs and preschool tables, as well as whiteboards and paint. The delivery of these materials is expected to be formalized during an upcoming visit from the head of ICHIFE, Luis Iván Ortega Ornelas.
