Residents in Trujillo protest water leak following suspected pipe burst

Residents of the Buenos Aires Centro neighborhood in the Víctor Larco district of Trujillo are demanding urgent repairs following a suspected pipe burst. The water leak, located at the intersection of Tacna and Callao streets, has reportedly been spreading across several blocks since Saturday.

Local inhabitants claim they reported the emergency to Sedalib, but have not received a timely solution. Some residents were reportedly informed that assistance could take up to 72 hours. The accumulation of stagnant water has raised significant health concerns, with neighbors fearing the area could become a breeding ground for diseases such as dengue.

In addition to sanitary risks, the flooding is affecting local transit, as passing vehicles splash water onto pedestrians. Residents are calling for immediate intervention to identify the source of the leak and prevent further damage to the community.
