Residents protest construction vibrations in Mexico and Spain

In the Mexican state of Querétaro, the Secretary of Urban Development and Public Works said the risk of housing damage from vibrations caused by the construction of a containment wall for the Mexico‑Querétaro rail line is very remote. The work, carried out by the Army's Engineering Corps using a drill‑type method, has not yet generated formal complaints from nearby residents.

In Madrid, Spain, neighbours near the expanding Line 11 of the Metro and a new transport interchange at Conde de Casal report persistent noise, dust, vibrations and night‑time work. Residents claim promised limits on night construction have not been observed, and they have received little information about the project, which also includes a underground shopping centre and a major bus hub.
