Resinas Jardim factory hit by large fire in Capivari do Sul

A large-scale fire broke out at the Resinas Jardim factory in Capivari do Sul, located on the northern coast of Rio Grande do Sul, on Sunday morning. The fire involved resins, chemicals, and flammable liquids, requiring firefighters to use Foam Generating Liquid (LGE) to combat the flames.

The intense dark smoke from the blaze was visible from many kilometers away, including the Osório region. The factory was fully evacuated during the incident, and one employee received initial medical treatment after inhaling smoke; no other injuries were confirmed at the time of the report.

Resinas Jardim has operated in the region since 2008, processing pine resin products such as rosin and turpentine. The company has a significant international presence, with approximately 80% of its production intended for export.
