Resistencia, Argentina highlights urban awareness and public‑sculpture heritage

Architect Daniela Petrucci launched a series of public talks in Resistencia to raise awareness of the city’s environmental vulnerabilities, emphasizing its location in the floodplains of the Negro and Paraná rivers and the need for citizens to understand local climate risks such as El Niño.

Separately, journalist María Paula Zacharias posted a video touring the city’s 731 outdoor sculptures, describing Resistencia as the world’s richest city in public art. The footage referenced the work of the Fundación Urunday and noted the legacy of Fabriciano Gómez, founder of the city’s International Sculpture Competition.

Both initiatives aim to deepen residents’ connection to Resistencia’s unique urban and cultural landscape.
