Tucumán prosecutors seek 10-year sentence for Budini in Toledo homicide trial

During the tenth day of an oral and public trial in San Miguel de Tucumán, the Public Prosecutor's Office requested a 10-year prison sentence for Santiago Leonel Budini. Budini is accused of the homicide of Federico Toledo, a 20-year-old physical education student, and the attempted homicide of Mateo Martí.

The incident occurred in the early hours of September 20, 2025, outside the Howard’s nightclub on Sarmiento Avenue. Prosecutors argue that the death was not an accident but a result of Budini's decision to strike the victim, noting that the defendant's experience in combat disciplines meant he was aware of the potential lethality of his actions.

While the prosecution requested 10 years, the plaintiffs' legal teams have requested a more severe sentence of 15 years. The case is being investigated by the Homicide Unit II under the direction of Carlos Sale.
