San Juan Chamber of Deputies to honor folklore musicians

The Chamber of Deputies of San Juan will host a special event titled ‘El legado que nos une’ on Friday, August 28, 2026, at the Emar Acosta Auditorium. The initiative aims to honor prominent folklore musicians during their lifetimes, recognizing their contributions to the province's cultural identity and intangible heritage.

The ceremony focuses on three pillars: honoring living references of San Juan folklore, strengthening social cohesion through regional musical symbols like the tonada and cuyana music, and fostering generational transmission by connecting veteran artists with new performers. Honorees include Orlando Palacio, Raúl de la Torre, César Ruiz Bustelo, Los Manantiales, Dúo Flores – Navarrete, Inti Huama, and Ricardo.
