Restaurant Noor avoids bankruptcy following court-approved settlement
The North Netherlands Court has approved a settlement proposed by owners Marleen and Jeroen Brouwer, preventing the bankruptcy of the star restaurant Noor. The decision follows a period of suspension of payments initiated in June 2026 after a creditor started bankruptcy proceedings due to a business dispute.
A large majority of creditors supported the proposal, though two creditors voted against it, arguing for liquidation. The court ruled the agreement binding for all parties involved.
While the settlement secures the restaurant's immediate future, the owners confirmed that Noor will close its doors in Groningen-Hoogkerk at the end of 2026. The restaurant will offer a ‘Final Chapter Menu’ until December 12, 2026, before the owners pursue new projects in 2027.
