Restoration projects underway at Córdoba Cathedral and Seville Cathedral

In Córdoba, Argentina, Governor Martín Llaryora and provincial officials inspected ongoing restoration works at the Córdoba Cathedral. The project aims to preserve the historical and religious heritage of the temple ahead of an upcoming visit by Pope Leo XIV. The intervention includes the recovery of facades, roofs, historical stained glass, and the pulpit, alongside interior painting and the renewal of lighting and sound systems. The seventh stage of the integral restoration is 85 percent complete, while an eighth stage specifically linked to the papal visit has reached 90 percent completion.

In Seville, Spain, the Seville Cathedral has reinstalled two restored historical stained glass windows, ‘The Nativity of Jesus’ and ‘The Custody’. As part of a permanent conservation program, the cathedral is preparing to dismantle three additional pieces—including ‘The Assumption of the Virgin’ and ‘The Marriage of the Virgin’—to be sent to Germany for specialized restoration.
