Bollywood’s ‘Karma’ celebrates 40‑year anniversary

Actor Anupam Kher marked the 40th anniversary of Subhash Ghai’s 1986 blockbuster ‘Karma’, recalling how the film transformed his career and praising the opportunity to work with legendary star Dilip Kumar. He described the movie as a turning point that launched him from art‑house acclaim in ‘Saaransh’ to mainstream stardom.

Filmmaker Subhash Ghai also commemorated the milestone by posting rare behind‑the‑scenes photographs from the original set, showing Dilip Kumar, Nutan, Anil Kapoor, Jackie Shroff, Naseeruddin Shah, Sridevi and other cast members. The posts highlighted the film’s ensemble cast and its popular Laxmikant‑Pyarelal soundtrack, underscoring the lasting cultural impact of ‘Karma’ on Indian cinema.
