ReStory electronics repair simulator sells 300,000 copies
The indie electronics repair simulator ReStory, developed by Mandragora and tinyBuild, has achieved significant commercial success, selling over 300,000 copies within one week of its release.
Set in mid-2000s Tokyo, the game tasks players with managing a repair shop where they dismantle, clean, and restore nostalgic devices such as handheld consoles, mobile phones, cameras, and music players. The title includes officially licensed Atari systems. Beyond the technical simulation, the game features a narrative component where player choices during repairs influence the personal stories of various customers.
On the Steam platform, the game has earned an ‘Overwhelmingly Positive’ rating and reached a peak of over 19,000 concurrent players. Following its strong launch, the developers are reportedly working on additional story content and more retro devices for future updates.
