Restrepo Planning Secretary reports death threats over urban zoning

Manuel Guerrero, the Secretary of Planning for Restrepo, Meta, has publicly denounced receiving death threats and being the target of a smear campaign. Guerrero claims these intimidations are linked to his refusal to authorize urban development actions that violate current regulations.

The official reported that the pressure began over a year ago through legal petitions, social media attacks, and public billboards intended to discredit his management. The situation escalated after he denied a request for a subdivision license on rural land, citing that the current Basic Land Management Plan does not permit such actions.

Guerrero stated he received an intimidating message warning him to resign or face fatal consequences for his family. He has filed formal complaints with the Fiscalía General de la Nación and the Gaula to provide evidence and identify those responsible.
