Retail developments announced in Wyee and York

Wyee Market Place Holdings has submitted a development application to the Lake Macquarie City Council for a $51 million commercial precinct in Wyee, Australia. The proposed shopping centre, located on former farmland at the corner of Hue Hue and Wyee roads, is intended to serve a growing local population. The project includes a full-line supermarket, approximately 12 retail outlets, and a 256-vehicle car park. Proponents estimate the development could support between 195 and 285 ongoing jobs.

In the United Kingdom, the City of York Council has approved rebranding plans for the McArthurGlen Designer Outlet following its acquisition by Frasers Group PLC from Aviva Investors. The approved changes involve installing new illuminated signage featuring the Frasers Plus name and logo at the site’s entrances and on totems. Planning officers determined the new signs would maintain a consistent design and would not negatively impact the visual amenity or safety of the surrounding area.
