Retail updates: HIRO Design and Esselunga report growth in Italy
Several Italian retail entities are reporting growth and operational updates. HIRO Design, a furniture and design brand, has completed its first year of physical retail operations at its Verona location. After seven years of operating exclusively online, the brand reported over 3,000 click-and-collect orders in its first year. The physical store has served as a critical feedback loop, allowing the company to observe customer reactions to materials and colors, which has influenced product development, such as a shift toward preferred metal finishes.
In Treviglio, the supermarket chain Esselunga has expanded its superstore on via Caravaggio. The facility has increased its sales area by 500 square meters, bringing the total to approximately 3,000 square meters. This expansion, achieved without increasing the building's volume or consuming new land, aims to provide a wider assortment of goods. The project also includes the addition of 40 new outdoor parking spaces and an increase in staff to manage the expanded inventory and sales floor.
