Retailers Awashimado and Watts announce new store openings in Japan

Several Japanese retail companies have announced new store openings and relocations scheduled for late 2026.

Awashimado, a long-established Japanese and Western confectionery manufacturer, will relocate and reopen its store within Soka Marui in Saitama Prefecture on October 1, 2026. The new location aims to expand its selection of both gift and household items, including factory-direct products. A week-long special sale is planned to coincide with the reopening.

Watts, an Osaka-based operator of 100-yen shops and discount stores, will open a new Watts With location in Okuma, Fukushima Prefecture, on October 2, 2026. The store will be situated within the Kusuri no Maruto Okuma branch and will offer a variety of daily necessities, stationery, and household goods.
