Retailers BIPA and Pita Express expand presence in Romania

Retail chains in Romania are pursuing expansion strategies. BIPA, a member of the REWE Group, has opened its ninth store this year in the Family Center retail park in Giurgiu. The company aims to open between 20 and 25 stores in Romania throughout the current year. BIPA, which operates over 700 locations across Central and Eastern Europe, reported business revenues exceeding one billion euros in 2024.

In Botoșani, the Pita Express network, owned by Adrian and Florentin Bidașcă through Pita Impex SRL, has reached five locations following the opening of two new markets this year. The company reported a turnover of 30.9 million lei and a net profit of 46,202 lei last year. The Bidașcă brothers previously owned a supermarket network that was sold to the Profi chain in 2013.
