Retailers expand Slovakian supermarket networks in Komárno and Nitra

Retailers COOP Jednota Nové Zámky and Tesco are expanding their presence in Slovakia with new supermarket openings in Komárno and Nitra.

COOP Jednota Nové Zámky is opening a modern Tempo SUPERMARKET in Komárno on September 28, 2026. The company invested 1 million euros to renovate the 800 m² space, which will feature energy-efficient cooling technologies and approximately 9,000 items. The store will be operated by 20 employees.

Tesco is opening a new 1,500 m² supermarket in the OC Klokan shopping center in Nitra-Dolné Krškany on September 24, 2026. This marks the company's 188th store in Slovakia. The facility includes nine checkout points, including six self-service options, and offers the Scan&Shop service. The store will be staffed by 17 employees.
