Polish retailers prepare for holiday shopping and Black Friday surge
Retailers in Poland are entering a high-intensity period as they prepare for Black Friday and the upcoming holiday season. Major supermarket chains including Biedronka, Lidl, and Żabka have launched various promotional campaigns. Biedronka is offering significant discounts on sweets, dairy, and meats, while Lidl has introduced specific discounts for Large Family Card holders and seasonal items for All Saints' Day.
In the e-commerce and logistics sectors, companies are bracing for the surge in demand. InPost reported handling 417.6 million parcels in Europe during the last quarter of 2025, with 220.2 million in Poland alone. This seasonal peak is driving a surge in recruitment for warehouse staff and forklift operators, as businesses attempt to mitigate potential logistical bottlenecks.
Retailers are also shifting their seasonal inventory early. Stores like IKEA and Action have already introduced Christmas decorations and holiday-themed products, moving past Halloween and autumn themes to capture early holiday shoppers.
