Retailers launch seasonal promotions amid shifting consumer spending

Major retail chains in Argentina and Spain are implementing aggressive promotional campaigns to drive sales in the home and kitchen sectors.

In Argentina, supermarkets have introduced breakfast combos featuring electric kettles, toasters, and coffee makers with discounts ranging from 35% to 50%. These offers, valid in physical stores through October 22, come as a response to declining consumer spending. Data from INDEC shows a 2.1% year-on-year drop in supermarket sales in July, while Scentia reported a 1.5% contraction in mass consumption in August.

In Spain, Carrefour has launched an autumn catalog valid from October 20 to November 11. The campaign focuses on affordable home and kitchenware, including seasonal mugs starting at 1.98 euros and 12-piece tableware sets for under 30 euros. The initiative aims to attract budget-conscious shoppers looking to refresh household items for the season.
